Meaning of the program "Proud of tradition – targeting the future"

On April 18, the Lao Cai Provincial Museum collaborated with Nam Cuong Secondary School in Lao Cai City to organize a program to experience the customs and practices of Lao Cai ethnic groups under the theme "Proud of tradition – targeting the future" and an exchange to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

At the program, teachers, parents and students of Nam Cuong Secondary School watched valuable films about Lao Cai history. In particular, students had the opportunity to interact with historical witnesses, listen to stories about the tumultuous time of our army and people during the resistance war against the US to save the country and sing songs that have been with us through the years.

Veteran Pham Luong Bang in Nam Cuong ward, Lao Cai city shared: “I am very excited to participate in the exchange program with students because I see that the young generation would like to hear historical stories, especially about the resistance war against the US to save the country of our entire Party, army and people. I hope that from today's exchange, the children will understand more about the history of the revolutionary struggle for national liberation, and from there try to study hard to become good citizens, contributing to building a beautiful and rich country in the new era."

Veteran Pham Luong Bang shared about the heroic years when he participated in the resistance war against America to save the country.

Also in the program, students visited historical and cultural artifacts on display at the Provincial Museum; experienced the traditional incense making profession of the Giay people with the guidance of artisans from Hop Thanh commune, Lao Cai city.

Tran Ngoc Anh, a 7A1 student at Nam Cuong Secondary School in Lao Cai City, felt that this was a very meaningful program: “These useful and meaningful activities give me many profound lessons. I feel that I need to study well to contribute to building my homeland.”
