Ban Xeo launches Culture - Arts - Sports Club

On the evening of August 28, Ban Xeo Commune launched its core Culture - Arts - Sports Club and held an arts programme celebrating the 81st anniversary of the September 2 National Day, creating a cheerful atmosphere among officials and residents.

Established under Decision No. 547/QD-UBND dated May 19, 2026, of the Ban Xeo Commune People's Committee, the club has 77 members divided into three groups: culture, arts and sports.

The club provides a healthy recreational platform that meets residents' needs for cultural enjoyment and creativity and physical exercise. It also brings together talented and committed individuals to form the core of local cultural, arts and sports movements.

At the programme, Commune People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Viet Cuong presented the decision establishing the club and introduced its Management Board. Vice Chairwoman Giang Thi Sen asked the club to maintain regular activities, build on its cultural, artistic and sporting strengths, and focus on preserving and promoting folk songs, traditional clothing and the distinctive cultural features of local ethnic groups.

Commune People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Viet Cuong presented the club's establishment decision to its Management Board.

Immediately after the launch, a lively arts programme featured songs and dances rich in local identity, including "Ban Xeo in My Heart", "Bringing Literacy to the Borderlands", "The Mong People Thank the Party", "Giay Fan Dance", "Beloved Lao Cai" and "Mong Scarf Dance".

Songs and dances celebrating the Party, the homeland, the nation and ethnic identities helped foster solidarity, enrich spiritual life and spread cultural, artistic and sporting movements at the grassroots level.

The programme closed with fireworks in a joyful atmosphere ahead of the 81st anniversary of September 2 National Day.

Mo Vang hosts lively National Day sports tournament

On the morning of August 28, Mo Vang Commune opened a sports tournament marking the 81st anniversary of September 2 National Day, with athletes from nine local villages taking part.

Held on August 28 and 29, the tournament includes men's leather-ball volleyball, women's football, traditional Mong spinning-top competition, men's stick pushing, and men's and women's tug of war.

The women's football competition brings together teams from all nine villages, while the men's volleyball teams are divided into groups and compete under Organizing Committee regulations. Traditional sports add to the lively competitive atmosphere and draw large crowds of residents to cheer.

Through the tournament, Mo Vang Commune continues promoting the movement "All people exercise following the example of great President Ho Chi Minh", encouraging officials, youth union members, association members and residents to exercise regularly and improve their health.

Traditional events such as spinning tops, stick pushing and tug of war also help preserve and promote ethnic cultural identity while strengthening exchanges and solidarity among villages and ethnic groups in the locality.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first matches were played in a spirit of honesty, solidarity and fair play, providing exciting contests for residents and supporters.

Trung Tam Ward holds activities ahead of National Day

Ahead of the 81st anniversaries of the August Revolution and September 2 National Day, Trung Tam Ward is implementing a series of activities combining traditional education with efforts to improve residents' well-being and fulfil local political tasks.

A highlight was the September 2026 flag-salute and political education session, which reviewed the traditions of the August Revolution alongside President Ho Chi Minh's guidance during his visit to Lao Cai. The session emphasized innovation, creativity, matching words with actions, staying close to the people and improving the effectiveness of public service.

Officials, Party members and residents of Trung Tam Ward offered incense in memory of heroic martyrs at Thai Lao Martyrs' Cemetery.

The ward also organized incense offerings in memory of President Ho Chi Minh and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at Thai Lao Martyrs' Cemetery. It is also rehearsing for a 2026 ward-level defensive-area combat exercise expected to take place in early September.

During the first eight months of the year, the ward maintained stable socio-economic conditions, while attention was given to culture and social affairs, education, health care, labour, employment and social welfare. It also completed the reorganization of public schools, reducing 10 units to four directly administered institutions.

Trung Tam Ward leaders congratulated heads of schools who received appointment decisions following the reorganization.

Ahead of National Day, the ward is holding friendly men's football matches among residential groups on August 29 and 30, alongside environmental clean-up drives, landscape improvements and measures to maintain public order and traffic safety.

The ward is also organizing the 2026 "Together with Vietnam, Moving Forward" activity, expected to draw about 300 people for a five-kilometre community walk combined with promotion of green living, environmental sanitation and plastic-waste collection.

The 2026 Thai Xip Xi Festival attracted large numbers of residents.

Bao Thang celebrates National Day with arts and fireworks

On the evening of August 27, Bao Thang Commune staged the arts programme "Proud August Revolution - Radiant Vietnam" and a fireworks display, creating a festive atmosphere among officials and residents ahead of September 2 National Day.

Attending were leaders of the Commune Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of local departments, sectors, mass organizations, schools and health facilities; and a large number of residents.

In the opening remarks, a representative of the Commune People's Committee highlighted the historical significance of the 1945 August Revolution and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, while calling on officials and residents to uphold solidarity, work and study actively, embrace creativity and join hands to build their homeland.

The arts programme comprised 15 song, dance and musical performances in three sections, presented by community performers, staff of the Health Centre, students of High School No. 1 and local arts clubs.

The performances celebrated the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the homeland and the nation, recreating the heroic atmosphere of the historic August days and stirring strong emotions among the audience.

The programme concluded with a fireworks display conducted by the Ministry of National Defence near the Bao Thang Commune People's Committee headquarters, drawing a large crowd.

The arts evening and fireworks were a practical contribution to enriching cultural and spiritual life, strengthening great national unity and creating a festive atmosphere ahead of the 81st anniversary of September 2 National Day.
