Provincial People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Tuan Anh received Sunwah Group
On the afternoon of July 16, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, received a Sunwah Group delegation from Hong Kong, China, led by Jesse Choi, Chairman of the Vietnam Chapter of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, a member of Sunwah Group's Board of Directors and President of the Group's ASEAN Region.
Provincial People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Tuan Anh briefed the delegation on Lao Cai's potential and advantages.
At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Tuan Anh spoke highly of Sunwah Group's cooperation, investment and development in Vietnam over the past 50 years. With its reputation, capabilities and international experience, Sunwah has made significant contributions to business connectivity and to innovation, start-up, education and technology cooperation between Vietnam and Hong Kong, China, as well as international partners.
Briefing the delegation on the locality's potential and advantages, Chairman Nguyen Tuan Anh said that following the provincial merger, Lao Cai now has a larger development space, a population of more than 1.7 million, abundant human resources and a strategic position as a gateway linking Vietnam and ASEAN with Southwest China.
Together with increasingly complete transport, logistics and border-gate infrastructure - particularly the standard-gauge Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway now under development - these advantages give the province favourable conditions for industrial, logistics and international trade development.

Given Sunwah Group's strengths and Lao Cai's development needs, the Chairman invited Sunwah to study cooperation in developing modern logistics systems, transshipment centres, bonded warehouses and goods distribution centres in the Lao Cai Border Gate Economic Zone, and to help connect businesses interested in investing in digital logistics platforms and smart supply chains.
He also called for stronger cooperation in agriculture and agricultural trade, promotion of official exports of Lao Cai's key products such as bananas, pineapples, tea and medicinal herbs, and possible investment in agricultural preservation and deep-processing centres and cold-chain logistics.


Chairman Nguyen Tuan Anh called on Sunwah Group to explore cooperation in developing a modern logistics system.
The Chairman also asked Sunwah Group to continue serving as a bridge to promote cooperation between Lao Cai and Yunnan Province, Honghe Prefecture and other Chinese partners in trade, logistics, innovation, education and training, and business exchanges.

Speaking at the meeting, Sunwah Group President Jesse Choi said he was impressed by Lao Cai's development potential and advantages, and affirmed that the Group would continue studying and seeking investment cooperation opportunities aligned with the province's development orientation in the coming period.
