"Colours of Thai Culture" draws residents and visitors in Nghia Lo
On the evening of July 31, the Nghia Lo Ward People's Committee held the "Lao Cai Identity Rendezvous" arts programme at Golden Field Square under the theme "Colours of Thai Culture", attracting a large audience of residents and visitors.

The programme is part of a series of cultural and arts activities on pedestrian streets under a policy of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, aimed at meeting residents' cultural needs, promoting the local image and contributing to tourism development.

In an atmosphere steeped in ethnic culture, artisans, members of the Indigenous Knowledge Preservation Club and neighbourhood arts teams presented 10 song, dance and musical performances introducing distinctive traditions of the Thai people.
Pieces including "Spring Butterflies", "Muong Lo Pieu Scarf", "Fragrance and Beauty of My Village", "Colours of the Pieu Scarf" and "Spring Comes to My Village", together with performances on the khen be mouth organ and tinh lute and traditional Thai khap singing, offered the audience a rich emotional experience.

The programme's highlight was a mass solidarity xoe dance. Residents and visitors joined hands in traditional xoe circles, creating a festive atmosphere, strengthening community bonds and spreading the beauty of Thai culture.

Under the schedule, "Lao Cai Identity Rendezvous" will continue to be held regularly at Golden Field Square with the themes "Echoes of the Kho Mu Mountains and Forests" on August 29; "Fragrance and Beauty of Muong Culture" on September 25; "Northwest Dance" on October 30; "Melody of Great Unity" on November 28; and "Welcome the New Year" on December 31.

The series helps create distinctive tourism products while preserving and promoting the cultural identities of ethnic groups in the locality.
