80 booths showcase Lao Cai's development potential at 2026 Investment Promotion Conference
As part of the 2026 Lao Cai Investment Promotion Conference, Lao Cai Province set up an exhibition area showcasing its investment, tourism and trade potential, with the aim of promoting the local investment environment, signature products and development strengths to domestic and foreign businesses and investors.
On the morning of July 17, before the conference's official session, Ho Quoc Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, toured the exhibition area together with central and provincial leaders, representatives of international organizations, businesses and investors.
Located at the Provincial Convention Centre, the exhibition comprises 80 booths, including 20 for investment promotion, 10 for tourism promotion and 50 for trade promotion.
With a modern, visually engaging design, the exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of the province's development planning, industrial infrastructure and tourism potential, alongside representative OCOP products, agricultural goods and local specialties.

In the investment promotion area, delegates viewed the provincial planning map and scale models of key industrial parks and clusters, including Tran Yen Industrial Park, Phu Xuan Industrial Park, Phu Thinh 3 Industrial Cluster and Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster.
Businesses also displayed representative industrial products such as internationally certified kitchen and bathroom cabinetry systems; Japanese-technology coloured roof tiles and terrazzo tiles; plastic pellets, stone powder and wood-plastic composite products; cassava starch; wood chips for export; and technology and digital-transformation solutions from Viettel, Viettel Post and VNPT. The area also featured documents and a list of projects the province is prioritizing for investment attraction.

The tourism promotion area, in particular, featured a range of distinctive Lao Cai promotional publications, including the photo books "Lao Cai - Majestic Mountains, Headwaters of Rivers" and "Sa Pa - Mist and Stone", as well as products and services from notable destinations and resorts such as Vila DeMont and Cat Cat. The displays helped promote Lao Cai's natural beauty, distinctive cultural identity, tourism development potential and overall appeal.



The exhibition drew strong interest from delegates, businesses and investors ahead of the opening of the 2026 Lao Cai Investment Promotion Conference.
In the trade promotion area, 50 booths display hundreds of representative OCOP products, agricultural goods and local specialties, including Muong Khuong rice, Tu Le glutinous rice, Muong Khuong chili sauce, Sa Pa artichoke products, Suoi Giang tea, Van Yen cinnamon and cinnamon-based products, aquatic products from Thac Ba Lake, Mu Cang Chai son tra (Docynia) fruit, and traditional processed foods such as dried meat, dried fish, smoked sausage and cham cheo dipping seasoning. The products attracted considerable interest from delegates and businesses.

During the tour, many businesses and investors spoke directly with exhibitors about development planning, investment-attraction policies, production processes, market linkages and opportunities to expand markets for local signature products. The exhibition also enabled businesses to promote their brands, connect with partners and seek investment and commercial cooperation opportunities.
The exhibition served as an opening highlight of the 2026 Lao Cai Investment Promotion Conference, presenting a comprehensive picture of the province's potential, advantages and post-merger development space. From planning, industrial infrastructure and tourism to agricultural products, specialties and OCOP goods, the displays conveyed the image of a dynamic, high-potential and culturally distinctive Lao Cai that is ready to partner with businesses and open to cooperation and investment for rapid, green and sustainable development.
