Sun World Fansipan Legend Welcomed Its 10 Millionth Visitor After a Decade in Operation
On the morning of June 20, the Sun World Fansipan Legend resort welcomed its 10 millionth visitor, marking a decade since its cable car began operating.
The ceremony was attended by the Provincial Tourism Association, leaders of Sa Pa ward and Ta Van commune, and representatives of local businesses.
The 10 millionth visitor to Fansipan was Irish Jane Tituag from the Philippines, who was welcomed with a special honoring ceremony witnessed by delegates, visitors and the management of Sun World Fansipan Legend.

To mark the special occasion, the 10 millionth visitor received a gift package worth more than 20 million VND, including a two-night resort voucher at a hotel in the Sun Group ecosystem and two 10th-anniversary commemorative gift sets - featuring a model of the Fansipan summit marker, a Sunny teddy bear, a tote bag, a T-shirt, a thermal flask and a souvenir coin.
Two adjacent visitors also received awards: Le Van Phuong from Quang Ngai province, holding number 9,999,999, and Nguyen Thi Huyen from Hai Phong province, the 10,000,001st visitor. Each received a one-night resort voucher and a similar 10th-anniversary commemorative gift set worth more than 10 million VND.

The 10-million milestone coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Fansipan cable car's official launch. When it opened in 2016, the line set two Guinness World Records: the world's longest three-cable car line (6,292.5 m) and the greatest elevation difference (1,410 m). More than an engineering feat, it was seen as revolutionary in the way it opened up tourism.
After a decade in operation, Sun World Fansipan Legend has increasingly established itself as a leading cultural, tourism and experiential destination in the region, helping Sa Pa reach further on Vietnam's and the world's tourism map. Before 2016, Sa Pa welcomed only a few hundred thousand visitors a year. By 2025, that figure had hit a record of more than 4.3 million, with tourism revenue reaching 19 trillion VND — 11 times the level before the cable car. In early 2026, the Agoda platform ranked Sa Pa among Asia's fastest-growing destinations of 2025, jumping 15 places in its list of the top 100 destinations in Asia.
