Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of the commune; representatives of various departments, agencies, and organizations; sponsoring units; support staff; and a large number of local people, domestic and foreign tourists.

Notably, this year's competition attracted 300 athletes from various localities both within and outside the province, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere right from the opening hours.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Giang A Tang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai commune - emphasized that Mu Cang Chai has long been famous for its magnificent terraced rice fields - one of the unique scenic spots, bearing the strong imprint of the creative labor of the highland people.

Each season, the terraced rice fields possess a unique beauty, but they are especially stunning during the rainy season, when each plot of land shimmers with rainwater, winding like soft silk ribbons amidst the mountains and forests of Northwest Vietnam. Inspired by this beauty and the strong connection between people and nature, Mu Cang Chai commune organized the first "Footsteps of the Water-Pouring Season" terraced rice field climbing competition – an event held for the first time to create a unique, distinctive, and enriching tourism product.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes officially conquered more than 100 terraced rice fields in the Hang Dang De village area - a place boasting beautiful terraced rice fields that are currently in the rainy season.

The athletes demonstrated determination, solidarity, honesty, and sportsmanship. After a day of competition, the organizing committee awarded prizes to individuals who achieved outstanding results in each distance.
