Lao Cai province delegation visited and worked with the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

On the afternoon of March 7, in Hanoi, a delegation of Lao Cai province led by Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and worked with the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam. The delegation included leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Ha Vi, Chinese Ambassador and Chinese envoys and commercial counselors in Vietnam.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, gave an overview of the cooperation situation between Lao Cai province and localities and the Chinese Embassy in recent times; affirmed that the good relationship between Vietnam and China is a favorable condition for Lao Cai to connect and develop with the Southwest region of China. Typical examples include participating in the forum of secretaries of 5 provinces (4 Vietnamese provinces - 1 Chinese province); economic cooperation of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), along with many events held alternately between the two countries, which are the basis for developing economic and social trade in the coming time.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee hopes to continue promoting cooperation between the two countries to implement major projects such as: Construction of high-speed railway infrastructure, early signing of an agreement to connect the railways between the two parties; construction of Ba Sai - Ban Vuoc bridge. Along with that is the development of clean energy, cooperation in connecting smart and interconnected border gate infrastructure, etc.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee also requested the Chinese Embassy to pay attention to connecting Chinese enterprises investing in Lao Cai in the fields of minerals and tourism, pointing out some favorable conditions and specific potential partners; wishing to establish a logistics service chain connection with many functions in the border gate area.

He also thanked the Chinese Embassy for supporting Lao Cai in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3, supporting social security and teaching Chinese in Lao Cai.
At the meeting, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Ha Vi, expressed his pleasure, emphasizing that Vietnam and China share a deep bond as comrades and brothers. He highlighted Lao Cai as a province with significant development potential and favorable conditions for enhanced cooperation. He also praised the province's proactive efforts in trade connectivity. Supporting Lao Cai’s proposals, the Ambassador noted the province's advantageous position for cross-border economic collaboration, citing its convenient transportation links and strategic geo-economic location. He encouraged Lao Cai to actively suggest policy mechanisms to the Vietnamese Government to facilitate partnerships with Yunnan province and Chinese businesses, affirming his willingness to assist in overcoming any challenges in establishing an economic cooperation zone.
