Lao Cai: Report on preliminary results of election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, term 2021-2026

On May 25, the Election Committee of Lao Cai province issued Report No. 130/UBBC-TT on the situation and preliminary results of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term in the local area. According to the general assessment, the election took place safely and in accordance with the law.

Election teams counted votes on the night of May 23.

At the end of the election at 19:00 on May 23, the whole province had 488,823/488,944 voters, reaching 99.98%. In which, 7 districts and cities are Muong Khuong, Bac Ha, Bat Xat, Si Ma Cai, Bao Yen, Van Ban and Lao Cai city with 100% of voters participating in the election; the remaining Bao Thang district reached 99.87%, Sa Pa town reached 99.95%.

Political security, social order, and safety at voting stations have been consistently maintained, with no major incidents occurring. The Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control at voting stations, concentrated quarantine areas, and people isolated at home were well organized; fully implement pandemic prevention and control measures. The organization in charge of the election, as well as related agencies and units, have fully prepared the material and technical conditions for election day, meeting the highest requirements for the election.

According to preliminary results, Lao Cai has 2 constituencies that have elected all 6 deputies as determined; election of delegates to the 16th Provincial People's Council, there are 14 voting stations, 55 delegates have been elected; election of deputies to the People's Council at district level, including 66 constituencies; of which 487 people promoted to be elected; the election of commune-level People's Council deputies has 926 voting stations and 5,397 candidates; there were 3,218 elected delegates, while the number of delegates was fixed at 3,221, short of 3 delegates.
