Commencement of construction project on Lang Giang bridge

On October 14, 2020, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee held a ground breaking ceremony for the project to build Lang Giang bridge. This is one of the contructions celebrating the XVI Lao Cai Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.

The project to build Lang Giang bridge was approved with a total cost of 258 billion dong, invested by the Department of Transport - Construction; It is expected that the construction unit will build the bridge in 15-16 months and strive to complete it as soon as 2021.

Lang Giang Bridge is permanently built of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed reinforced concrete with the length of the bridge is 438m, the width of the bridge is 12 m, and the width of the vehicle face is 1m. The bridge consists of 7 spans, a span of 120 meters, is the longest bridge across the Red River in Lao Cai province. The entire bridge face, the path to the bridge is covered with asphalt concrete and installed lighting systems. The road leading to the bridge on the side of Lao Cai city is in Xuan Tang ward; The road leading to the bridge on the side of Bao Thang district is in Thai Nien commune.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Lang Giang Bridge is one of the important traffic links connecting Lao Cai city with inter-district roads in the region, connecting highways 70, 4D with 4E and the highway Noi Bai - Lao Cai. Upon completion, it will be the basis and conditions for implementing the plan to expand the administrative boundaries to the south of Lao Cai city, promoting the development of commodity trade and regional socio-economic development. He asked Lao Cai city, Bao Thang district, related departments, branches and provinces to create favorable conditions for the investor and construction unit to complete the tasks and put the bridge into use to ensure quality and on time.
