Exploring Ta Trung Ho waterfall
In recent years, many people in urban areas always tend to go to high mountain villages to enjoy the cool and fresh atmosphere, especially walking, sightseeing, and experiencing nature beside wild waterfalls. During the weekend trip, we chose to go to Ban Ho commune, Sa Pa town.Mr. Phan Lao Ta, Head of Ta Trung Ho village, Ban Ho commune told me: In Ta Trung Ho village, there is a beautiful waterfall, but because the distance is difficult to travel, few people know about it.
Ta Trung Ho Waterfall is in the middle of Hoang Lien Mountain |
Passing the 9 km long distribution road from the center of Ban Ho commune, we arrived at Ta Trung Ho village. However, from here, we have to go further of 4 km dirt road to reach hamlet 1, Ta Trung Ho village and walk for 30 minutes to reach the beginning of the stream. Hamlet 1 is the highest Dao hamlet in the village, from here you can see the whole view of Ta Trung Ho village located on the mountainside. The stream here has been blocked by a hydropower dam: Above is the deep, blue dam, below is the shallow and dry stream of stones.
Looking from far distance, we saw the waterfall originating from the ancient old forests of the Hoang Lien mountain with the large white stream like the giant silk ribbon pouring down from hundreds of meters. In particular, next to the waterfall are green and soft terraced fields winding around simple wooden shacks, creating the beautiful natural picture. When we approached the foot of the waterfall, we heard more clearly the rumbling sound, few waterfalls in the high mountains of Lao Cai have such large and majestic water. At the foot of the waterfall is the clear, cool, gentle flow of water and the rocky beach stretching downstream.
Mr. Phan Lao Ta smiled: In the past, Ban Ho stream had a lot of fish, including rare flower fishes, but since hydropower stopped the flow, the fish have gradually disappeared. Because it is located upstream and has not been affected by human, Ta Trung Ho stream still retains its wild beauty and abundant water all year round. The Dao people in the village still come here to catch many fish and shrimp. Under those deep waters and rocky crevices there are many flower fish, but they are very smart, it takes persistence to catch.
One day to explore the nature and beauty of Ta Trung Ho waterfall, we had fun and bathed in the clear blue water. A few young Dao people have managed to catch some fish in the stream, including some special flower fish, grilled right on the stream bank. The delicious grilled fish marinated with cardamom sprouts, the ancient Shan Tuyet teapot and the fresh space by Ta Trung Ho waterfall left unforgettable impressions in our heart. In the future, when the route to Ta Trung Ho is poured with concrete, the Dao village here and Ta Trung Ho waterfall will become an attractive destination for tourists from all over the world.
