Sapa ancient roses and Tran Mong Xuan orchids are two rare flowers, typical of the "land of fog". In Sa Pa, in recent years, ancient persimmons and orchids are planted for the purpose of commercial sale and tourism. However, the production of these two varieties of flower is still limited due to limitation in techniques of planting, care and preservation, making the yield and quality of commercial flowers not high.

Regarding to Sa Pa ancient persimmon, this flower is mainly grown spontaneously, the preservation, conservation, research and development of genetic resources has received little attention, so it is increasingly mixed and degraded. To serve the increasing demand of the market, Phu Minh Urban Development Limited Company has built the model of propagating Sa Pa ancient roses by the method of layer cuttings, applied on the scale of 5,000 m2 in group 1, O Quy Ho ward, Sapa town. After more than 1 year of implementation, the Sa Pa ancient rose trees of the company are less susceptible to pests and diseases, and the trees grow healthier than conventional planting. Therefore, the new Sa Pa ancient rose propagating technique has the potential to be widely applied in Sa Pa or areas with similar climate conditions.
In Ta Phin commune, Sa Pa town, the development of Tran Mong Xuan orchids is very focused. Currently, this plant brings high economic efficiency, the total revenue from the orchids of the commune is estimated at VND 10-12 billion/year. According to Ms. Lai Thi Nga, Director of Ta Phin Cymbidium Cooperative, although Tran Mong Xuan orchid has high value, but because of the application of old production methods, the seedlings are easily degraded, the rate of commercial plants which meet the standards for sale during the Lunar New Year is low.
That is also the concern of the gardeners in the area in recent years. In 2020, with the help of Phu Minh Urban Development Company Limited, the Center for Research and Development of Flowers and Ornamental Plants coordinated training, coaching, and transferring new technical advances in Tran Mong Xuan orchid cultivation for the people of Ta Phin commune. Currently, the Cooperative has propagated more than 6,000 pots of Tran Mong Xuan orchids by branching method, and at the same time has more than 10,000 m2 of production of Tran Mong Xuan commercial orchids, achieving economic efficiency nearly twice as much of which before.
Besides researching methods of propagating Sa Pa ancient roses and Tran Mong Xuan orchids, Phu Minh Urban Development Company Limited also conducts experiments to perfect the process of planting, caring, collecting and preserving of these 2 flowers.
