According to the Provincial People's Committee, from the beginning of 2021 up to now, the Covid-19 pandemic continues to adversely affect socio-economic development in the area. To proactively cope with pandemics, Lao Cai province has built many scenarios to be flexible in directing and operating, persisting with dual goals, good disease control, stability and economic development. It is expected that the economic growth of GRDP in 2021 of Lao Cai province will reach 10.2%; of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 4.87%; industry increased 15.87%; construction increased by 12%; service rose 7.9%; product tax increased by 6.29%; Budget revenue in the province increases at least 10% compared to the resolution assigned by the Provincial People's Council at the beginning of the year.
For the implementation progress of 8 tasks that the Provincial Party Committee assigned the Provincial People's Committee to organize and implement in 2021, the Provincial People's Committee has directed branches and localities to actively implement, bringing remarkable changes in handling difficulties and shortcomings in a number of fields in the province's rural socio-economic development. For 28 key projects to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of Lao Cai province: 16 works are expected to be completed before 1 October 2021 and 12 projects will be started before 1 October 2021.

At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches and localities also highlighted difficulties and problems in implementing tasks in some fields, and proposed some solutions to be implemented in March and the following months in 2021.
