Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh communicates with the Head of SNV's Representative Office in Vietnam
On the morning of September 15, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, communicated with Mr. Peter William Loach, Head of Representative Office of the Netherlands Development Organization - SNV Vietnam.

SNV is a foreign non-governmental organization of the Netherlands. It started to operate in Vietnam in 1995 in rural development, climate change prevention, and capacity building, contributing to poverty reduction and socio-economic development.
In Lao Cai province, SNV has implemented many cooperation programs such as: "Pro-poor sustainable tourism development in Lao Cai province in the period of 2008 - 2011"; "Improving people's access to rural clean water and sanitation"; "Developing cardamom value chain to eradicate hunger and reduce poverty in Lao Cai province in the period of 2008-2010"; "Vocational training for the group of unskilled workers in the period 2012 - 2014"; "Promote the spice industry to support poverty reduction for ethnic minority communities in Lao Cai province from 2013 to 2015"; "Raising the position of women through promoting the agricultural value chain - cinnamon value chain from 2016 to 2019". Total funding committed to programs deployed by SNV Organization in Lao Cai is about 21 billion VND.

At the meeting, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, thanked Mr. Peter William Loach and SNV Organization for their interest in Lao Cai. During the projects' implementation, the organization has complied with regulations related to local sponsorship activities, ensuring the committed funding source with partners in Lao Cai province. Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee wanted SNV to study and consider adding Lao Cai to the project "Providing clean water for rural areas and increasing opportunities for women (Aus4water), the period 2020 - 2025"; continue to build, consider and finance new projects for Lao Cai province.
Mr. Peter William Loach, Chief Representative of SNV Organization in Vietnam, expressed his thanks for the People's Committee of Lao Cai province's welcome and favorable conditions for the effective operation of SNV. Over the past ten years, SNV has implemented many programs towards the development of Lao Cai. SNV wants to continue contributing to poverty reduction and empowerment projects for women, especially Lao Cai ethnic minority women. Mr. Peter William Loach affirmed SNV Organization would continue to build sponsored programs and projects to make Lao Cai increasingly developed./.
